Wellington Phoenix Football Club is New Zealand’s only professional football club and is based in Wellington, New Zealand.
The Wellington Phoenix compete in the Australian Hyundai A-League, under license from the Football Federation of Australia.

The Hyundai A-League is ranked as one of the World’s top 20 Football leagues and the Phoenix are the only New Zealand team in a league amongst with nine Australian clubs. The club is one of the only clubs in the world to compete in a league of a different confederation (AFC) from that of the country where it is based (OFC).

The Phoenix have played finals football twice in the Club’s history, in season 2014/15 and season 2009/10. The Wellington Phoenix season runs from October until April each year, through the New Zealand summer and the Capital city’s best weather.

This wonderful fireworks show is synchronised with soundtracks on local radio stations The Breeze (94.1 and 98.5FM) and MORE FM (99.7 and 95.3FM).

This is a popular event, so walk, bike or catch public transport into town early to grab a good spot and check out the food trucks for a tasty pre-show dinner along the Wellington waterfront.

The All Whites are on their final step on their Road to Russia. The FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign concludes on Saturday 11 November at Westpac Stadium, Wellington when they take on Peru for a place in Russia next year at the biggest sporting event in the world.

After defeating the Solomon Islands 8-3 on aggregate to book their place in the Intercontinental Playoff, the All Whites will now face World No. 12 home and away after they finished as the fifth-ranked South American team.

All New Zealand Football fans will remember that magical night at Westpac Stadium in 2009. Rory Fallon scored the decisive goal which sent New Zealand into raptures and the All Whites to the World Cup. If you missed the 2009 game you won’t want to miss what will be one of the best sporting moments you will ever experience!

Only two All Whites teams have qualified for the FIFA World Cup and Anthony Hudson’s team is focused on following in their footsteps and making history.

Wellington can look forward to an exciting quarter final match!
New Zealand Rugby League fans will have the chance to see the Kiwis in action against the best in the Pacific region for the Rugby League World Cup 2017 (RLWC2017).

The RLWC2017 will see 14 teams play 28 games over five weeks from 27 October until 2 December 2017 – all hoping to be crowned world champions. In addition to playing matches in New Zealand and Australia, there will be three pool matches played in Papua New Guinea.
